Beware of the
"property expert II sales spiel.
You may hear the following sales spiel as you answer on an ad or
visit an open house. The agent is trying to impress you. She says she
knows all the properties available, and implies that others don't.
Balderdash! With the magic of technology, the ability of any agent to
get property information has never been easier. Although "inventory
knowledge" is important, good agents see only enough properties to
stay educated. When they know your needs, they'll preview appropriate
properties. Poor agents, on the o1her hand, spend their time looking at
pretty homes, and they'll always turn out for lunch during those open
houses for agents! What agents do with the property information, how
they work with you, and how they handle their businesses are much more
impof1ant determinants about whether you want to work with them than
their ability to access property information-or rattle off descriptions
of an the properties they've just seen.
